Ken is a long term resident of Washington, and lives with his wife in the section of DC called Shepherd Park, named after “Boss” Shepherd, the first political boss of Washington, DC. This neighborhood includes the (now closed) Walter Reed Medical Center, which has been relocated to the Bethesda Military Health Center.
Ken is a former US Government employee and has a wide and deep knowledge of the city, Federal politics, and local architecture. He recently completed a coast to coast bicycle ride: 4,500 miles, 5 mountain ranges, and no support car/van; and has ridden to Chicago, NYC, and North Carolina. He regularly runs 10 milers and half-marathons, and cycles extensively all over the WDC area. He is a licensed DC tour guide, a member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC, as well as a member of the District Architecture Center (American Institute of Architects), the DC Historical Society, and the National Building Museum.
